Mobile friendly tool: mobiReady
Top Feature #1
One of the top six features of a mobile friendly website should be the ability to switch easily between the mobile and desktop versions. Of course, you can choose to have a separate website address (the URL) for your mobile site or add a sub-domain to your existing website address.
How does it work?
Basically, mobile friendly websites use a mobile redirect to push or redirect smartphone users to land on your mobile site rather than your desktop site. It is good practice to have a link to the full (desktop) version of your site and to actually label it as "Desktop version". Also include a link on your desktop site to your mobile site.
Important content is displayed differently on your mobile site compared to your desktop site and some information may not be appropriate on your mobile site as it is not relevant or a priority for the mobile user.
Mobile-Friendly Checker Tool - mobiReady
This is a free mobile friendly checker tool that allows you to preview what your website and mobile site looks like on smartphone screens. It doesn't stop there, it also includes a free report on the problems that the tool has detected on your mobile version of your site and provides you with tips on how to fix them.
